Rumors Du Jour

Here are some rumors for you, i will update as i learn more..

-Sundin will make his decision on whether he will be playing next season or not on August 1st. Latest news tells me Teemu Selanne is intrigued by what Montreal have to offer next season, If the Habs manage to land that big fish we call Sundin, there is a strong chance we see Selanne take a big paycut to go to Montreal.

-One of my sources called me this morning with some news on Bouwmeester. The latter rejected a multi-year deal worth over $5M a year from Florida. He told me he is hearing that Bouwmeester may be dealt to Los Angeles in the next couple of days. The return is believed to be a young defencemen and a draft pick. I am hearing the name of Jack Johnson.

-Bruins place Glen Murray on waivers today with the intention of buying him out if he is not claimed. Strong rumors out of Boston today that they are making a serious push to obtain the rights to Sharks winger Ryan Clowe.

-Brendan Shanahan returning to the Rangers seems more and more likely, could even be done within the week.

-A source told me that Ladislav Nagy is close to signing with the Colorado Avalanche

-Ottawa currently have two deals on the table for Vermette. Both deals would see a defencemen coming the Sens way in exchange for Vermette. The two teams are believed to be the Canucks and Leafs.

Sundin to decide on August 1st

As per rds.ca, Mats Sundin will announce on August 1st if he will play in 2008-2009 or simply go into retirement. As we all know the Vancouver Canucks are eagerly awaiting his decision, after offering a much publicized 2 year contract worth a whopping 20 million dollars. Sunday, the swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported that Sundin had accepted the Vancouver offer.

That rumor was cast aside by Mats himself on Monday. Toronto and the Montreal Canadiens are also both reportedly still in the running for his services. The suspense continues...

Maple Leafs and Senators Swap?????

Talking to a source this morning about a possible trade between the 2 teams, I never thought I would see the day this would happen but the rumored deal could be Kubina and Blake for Vermette and Mezaros.

Murray has been quoted as saying that he is having real trouble coming to an agreement with Mezaros and Vermette and really doesn't want to go to Arbitration with them.

In the Leafs case Kubina or McCabe need to be moved and McCabe has that NMC which he and his agent have continued to say won't be waived. Blake while I personaly feel the Leafs shouldn't move him did not live up to what the Leafs expected and he has been rumored out of town several times.

Take this for what it its worth I'm working on a LA/Washington swap right now and should have something on tonights chat so stay tuned!

The Source

UPDATE:

Talking to a source just recently and squash any Blake rumors he isn't being moved but a Vermette for Kubina trade could be in the works.
