Meszaros to Russia?





















With on going negotitations, it seems that Ottawa Senators GM Brian Murray isn't willing to budge from the$ 3.5-4.0 million that he is reportedly offered his new star defenseman Andrej Mezaros. It is rumoured that there has been some contact between Russian teams and Mezaros, so him going to Russia could become a reality. As of right now, it is all speculation and rumours, so I will let you guys no as more unfolds on this story.

Andrej Meszaros, 22, was drafted 23 overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. In 246 career games with Ottawa the young defenseman has notched 26 goals and 84 assists while adding 213 penalty minutes.

Tough Guy Roy Now A Flame


Andre Roy signed a contract with the Calgary Flames, no more details on the deal. It will likely be a two-way deal.

Veilleux will stay in Minnesota


Stephane Veilleux finally resigned with the Minnesota Wild, to a one year contract. The other terms of the contract were not revealed.

Kings Offer Danny Markov A Contract

The Los Angeles Kings have offered defenceman Danny Markov a contract. Markov played in Russia this past year but has lots of NHL experience with a few teams including the Detroit Red Wings. No Details such as money and length of contract have been released but if this is true I think the rumored deal that would bring in Frantisek Kaberle could be toast.

Frans Nielsen resigns with the Islanders



The first Danish born player to play in the NHL, will remain with the Islanders. Forward Frans Nielsen signed a 4years contract, worth an average of 525k per season. Last campaign, Nielsen played 16 games with the Islanders, notching 2 goals and adding an assist. He was drafted in the 2002 entry draft, at the 87th spot.

Garth Murray A Coyote


The Phoenix Coyotes have signed grinder/Tough guy Garth Murray to a one year contract.In 106 career games with the Rangers,Canadiens and more recently the Florida Panthers, Murray has spent 119 minutes in the sin bin and in 202 career AHL games hes been put in the penalty box for over 500 minutes.

Toronto or retirement for Sundin?


As per Sportsnet analyst Doug Maclean, Sundin will play in Toronto or he will retire. Actually, that's what Maclean heard. Take it as it worth, but it is just an update in the Sundin saga.

Islanders Recieve Permission To Talk With Tortorella


The New York Islanders are still seekinga new coach, and we know that Isles assistant coach Gerard Gallant and former Thrashers coach Bob Hartley are possible candidates . Now, we can add John Tortorella on that list, The Islanders asked the Tampa Bay Lightning to have preliminary talks with former Bolts coach. More details to come...

Hurricanes to have an alternate jersey


This season, the Carolina Hurricanes are going to introduce a whole new jersey, a 3rd jersey that they will wear from time to time. The logo is going to be a kind of flag, and the main color is going to be black. We expect the Canes to wear it the first time on October 13th, against the Detroit Red Wings.

No official pictures had been released but, I found a picture on Internet, and I am pretty sure it is going to be the exact same.
