Since July 1 there have been non stop rumors of a "HOMERUN" trade by Cliff Fletcher and now that Bryan McCabe has seemingly agreed to waive things should heat up. You have to look back on the many trades that Cliff is famous for to really get a feel of what this man is capable of.
Lets look here we have the Doug Gilmour trade and then the very criticized Clark for Sundin trade. This is just the tip of the iceberg what is this man really capable of..............................????
Lets look at some of the rumors that are out there that have been bantered about on the internet and on TV.
Patrick Marleau: Lots of these last year and this summer could this be something that is considered
Jay Bouwmeester: Something we have been working on all summer is the Bouwmeester watch this could still be out there.
Jussi Jokinnen and Jeff Halpern: This rumor still hasn't died but with the current speculation of there being no trade to begin with its hard to see it going down.
There are many options and if Cliff puts the right deal on that table there may be a substantial move in the works. Fletcher is famous for this so lets wait and see.

Marleau if he was going to be moved it would have been before his NTC kicked. As farr JayBO that isn't going to happen, and the Jokinen and Halpern trade sounds about right with Mccabe because that trade is horrible for the Leafs.
Why would that trade be horrible for the Leafs?
Let's see Halpern is injured and will start the season on the IR, Jokinen is a floater that is good at one thing , shootouts. IF anything Toronto would want Jokinen and Oulette, not Halpern and besides all that the Blogger for TB has already said NO to Mccabe. I know it's slow but this rumor has nothing to it, let it go.

We're not talking about whether the rumour is true or not, YOU brought up that it was a bad trade.
McCabe: 33 yrs old, 5/18/23/$5.75 million. And he's a defensive liability and grossly overpaid.
Jokinen: 25 yrs old, 16/26/42/$1,812,000. And he's a shootout specialist. that alone could be the difference between making the playoffs or not.
Halpern: 32 yrs old, 20/22/42/$2 million.
I don't know too much about Halpern or Jokinen. Especially being that the Leafs badly wanna dump McCabe, I think the return is pretty solid.
