Islanders Could Introduce Torts As Coach..SOON
Just got a message sent to me via telephone from an Islanders guy saying that John Torterella's Interview with the New York Islanders went "REALLY WELL" and a deal could be announced between the 2 sides in the next few days.
Kings Trying to Acquire Bouwmeester
Here are a few things that have been confirmed...
1. The Kings are trying to acquire Bouwmeester
2. Jack Johnson is still being mention in this trade but chances are very slim
3. The Kings are really pushing a package that includes Patrick OSullivan, Peter Harrold and draft picks
4. The Kings are still trying to resign OSullivan
Just a few other updates. The Kings are working on long term extensions for Kopitar and Johnson. Im not sure on a exact date but Cloutier's arbitrations hearing is coming up within the next 2 weeks. And they are working on a new contract for Jarret Stoll.
Another source has told me to look for the Kings to make a move for a Goaltender in the next few weeks.

F Brendan Shanahan close to 1 year deal
Wild Extend Bouchard, Bruins Buy Out Murray
The Minnesota Wild have avoided an arbitration hearing with right wing Pierre-Marc Bouchard by signing him to a five year, $20.4 million contract. A 2002 first round draft pick, Bouchard is the Wild's second all time leading scorer behind only Marian Gaborik. The diminutive forward has had some trouble with being a consistent scorer, but at only age 24 Minnesota feels he can still improve his game.
Heading east, the Boston Bruins completed their buyout of veteran right wing Glen Murray. The B's would have owed the seven time 20+ goal scorer $4.15 million in 2008-09, but instead chose to sever their ties with the 35 year old. Murray is now an unrestricted free agent and is free to sign with any team he wants to.

Thrashers pitch deal to Nagy and Mats Sundin to Leafs seems very close.
According to a source and a rep I have spoken to for the Atlanta Thrashers they have offered a 1 year $1,850,000 to UFA F Ladislav Nagy the deal has not been confirmed yet and there are other teams who still have interest including Nagy's former team the LA Kings. The Rep has said that the deal could be signed after Mats Sundin signs as he seems to be the last link in the chain before other pieces are moved around.
Speaking of Mats Sundin speaking to JP Barry this evening he said that while he won't name names he can say that Mats has chosen a team. Or at least he would like me to think that way! I have spoken to a few people who believe that Mats will rejoin the Leafs in the coming days maybe even as soon as Wednesday of next week.
Things are definitely starting to heat up this evening as many GM's seem to be talking including Montreals Gainey and Vancouvers Mike Gillis.
If this is true and Mats has chosen the Leafs then I would expect the Vermette to Van rumors to pick up even more in the next few days. Bieksa and a Prospect seem to be the return right now or at least thats what has been tossed about by the local media.
Anyways stay tuned things are getting toasty.
