According to a source of mine and Spector's Hockey, Jay Bouwmeester has decided to reject the Florida Panthers multi year deal and will go to arbitration on July 29th.
So this all but kills any rumors of J-Bo being shopped.
The Source
(Also remember that he can still be traded before the Arbi but I wouldn't expect it to happen as the Panthers are asking for a 1st round pick)

Ya not sure why he can't still be traded.. in fact this makes it more likely...
shouldn't this mean he's more likely to be traded? If he's not going to sign long term in Florida, they have to trade him before his arbitration case or they'll lose him for nothing.
They'll get him for a year but no matter what they would probably lose him anyways. Right now with next seasons draft being so deep I wouldn't expect anyone to give up that pick.
I am pretty sure that Jay will sign for 1 year on arbitration and after he will be dealt at the trade deadline or will just walk away as a UFA next season.
Steen, White, Poni and a first from 2010 that's my final offer.
That offer is ridiculous there is no way that would work.Toronto is giving up to much.
Lol I love it ask Florida fans and that's not enough.
Source, youre not even close on any part of this
the 1 year deal makes it almost guaranteed he walks at seasons end and so they will trade him just like they did luongo. id bet at least 20 teams would trade a first as part of a package for this guy.
oh and that toronto package wouldnt even be close
